Antioxidant 9228 Usage

Antioxidant 9228 has a higher molecular weight than all current commercial phosphite antioxidant products, resulting in unparalleled thermal stability. It is compatible with the base resin and is resistant to migration and precipitation. Antioxidant 9228 has high purity, good resistance to hydrolysis, excellent high temperature stability and low volatility at high temperatures, which effectively prevents yellowing or black spots during high temperature processing of various engineering plastics, especially PC, PA, PBT, PET, HIPS, ABS and PP, and provides effective protection against high temperature degradation.

High efficiency: the addition of a fraction of the amount of traditional antioxidants is sufficient to achieve satisfactory results. In long-term contact with water-containing media, the use of high-temperature hydrolysis-resistant antioxidant 9228 type antioxidant with high molecular weight hindered phenols such as 1098, can effectively provide long-term resistance to heat and humidity stability.

Antioxidant 9228 Application scenarios

1. High-Temperature Processing Stability of Engineering Plastics:

Compatible with polycarbonate (PC), polyamide (PA/high-temperature nylon), polyester (PET, PBT), polyoxymethylene (POM), polyphenylene ether (PPO), etc., inhibiting thermal degradation and yellowing in high-shear processes such as high-temperature extrusion and injection molding, maintaining melt stability and mechanical properties. Suitable for high-temperature components such as automotive hood parts and electronic connectors.

2. Processing and Long-Term Stability of Polyolefin Products:

Used for injection molded parts, pipes, films, and fibers of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE, LLDPE), improving color and melt stability after multiple processing steps. Compatible with phenol-free antioxidant-free stabilization systems, suitable for appliance housings, food packaging, and wire and cable insulation.

3. Styrene and ABS Resins:

Applied to polystyrene (PS), ABS, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), etc., preventing thermo-oxidative aging during processing and use, maintaining product appearance and mechanical properties. Suitable for injection/extrusion molded products such as electronic housings and appliance components. 4. Specialty Engineering Plastics and Elastomers:

Suitable for specialty engineering plastics and elastomers such as polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyetherimide (PEI), inhibiting degradation during high-temperature processing and long-term use, suitable for high-performance applications such as industrial machinery parts and aerospace components.
