Application Instructions

A phenolic and environmentally friendly trialkane phosphite antioxidant, free of phenol, nonylphenol, bisphenol A and other free phenols. It has a high content of available phosphorus and excellent thermal stability and color stability. Suitable for a variety of polymers, including PVC, ABS and lubricating oil, etc. When used in lubricating oil, it can enhance the oil’s antioxidant, anti-wear and anti-extreme pressure properties. It is applied in polyurethane foam and has a very good inhibitory effect on the fading and yellowing of nitrogen oxide (NOX) gas. Suggested addition amount: 0.1-2.0%

Antioxidant TOP Application scenarios

1. PVC Thermal Stabilization and Antioxidant:

Inhibits thermal decomposition during PVC processing, reduces HCl release, and also acts as a metal passivator. Suitable for rigid PVC (pipes, profiles) and flexible PVC (films, artificial leather). Adding 0.2-0.6 phr improves heat and weather resistance, making it suitable for food contact products.

2. Polyolefin Antioxidant Compound:

Compounded with hindered phenols (such as Irganox 1010) for PP and PE, it inhibits thermo-oxidative degradation during processing and long-term use, protecting molecular weight and mechanical properties. Used in automotive parts, appliance housings, food packaging films, etc.

3. Elastomer and Rubber Anti-aging:

Acts as an antioxidant and metal passivator in EPDM, SBS, SBR, etc., preventing thermo-oxidative aging and metal catalytic degradation. Suitable for sealing strips, hoses, tires, etc., for outdoor or high-temperature applications, improving fatigue resistance and crack resistance.

4. Wire and Cable Insulation Protection:

Chondrates copper and iron ions, inhibiting the catalytic oxidation of cross-linked PE and PVC insulation layers, improving the long-term aging resistance and insulation reliability of power cables and communication cables, suitable for copper core and steel armor cables.

5. High-Temperature Processing of Engineering Plastics:

Used in ABS, nylon, PC/ABS, etc., inhibiting thermo-oxidative degradation during high-temperature injection molding/extrusion, maintaining product strength and appearance, suitable for automotive parts, electronic housings, and other applications requiring high stability.

6. Lubricating Oils and Metalworking Fluids:

As an extreme pressure anti-wear additive, phosphorus forms a protective film on metal surfaces, reducing friction and wear. Often used in synergy with ZDDP in industrial gear oils, hydraulic oils, and cutting fluids, suitable for heavy-duty and boundary lubrication conditions.

7. Coating and Adhesive Stabilization:

Prevents pre-crosslinking during storage and curing of UV-cured coatings/adhesives, improves the weather resistance of alkyd resin coatings, extends the life of outdoor coatings, improves the stability of water-based/solvent-based systems, and prevents delamination and gelation.

8. Construction of Polymer Anti-aging Systems:

Synergistically combined with hindered phenols and thioether antioxidants, it constructs highly efficient anti-aging systems, improving the weather resistance, heat resistance, and yellowing resistance of materials. Suitable for outdoor building materials (plastic doors and windows, railings), automotive exterior parts, etc.

9. Organic Synthesis Intermediates:

In the synthesis of pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates, it acts as a reducing agent, hydrogen chloride scavenger, or catalyst ligand, participating in selective reactions to ensure the purity and yield of the target product. Suitable for fine chemical synthesis scenarios.

10. Food Contact Material Additives:

Low toxicity and phenol-free properties, complying with relevant FDA standards, used in food contact grade plastics, rubber, coatings, etc., ensuring safety during processing and use, with no risk of harmful substance migration.
