Antioxidant 430 Application scenarios

1. Polyurethane (PU) Material Stabilization and Flame Retardancy

Core compatibility with polyurethane foam (flexible/rigid foam), preventing the formation of peroxides from polyols and inhibiting core burning and yellowing during foaming; used in PU elastomers, adhesives, and coatings to improve processing thermal stability and long-term antioxidant properties. Typical addition level is 0.3%–0.5%, up to 10% in flame-retardant applications. It can also be used in PU flame lamination to reduce smoke and shorten bonding time.

2. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Processing Thermal Stabilization

Inhibits thermal decomposition and HCl release during high-temperature extrusion and injection molding of PVC, preventing yellowing and embrittlement of products. Compatible with rigid PVC pipes, profiles, flexible PVC films, and artificial leather. Combined with metal soap stabilizers, it can improve weather resistance; addition level is 0.2%–0.4%.

3. Anti-aging Modification of Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Copolymer (EVA)

Suitable for EVA foam materials and photovoltaic encapsulation films, inhibiting thermo-oxidative degradation during processing and long-term use, reducing peroxide accumulation, and improving the material’s weather resistance and electrical insulation stability. Addition amount: 0.3%–0.5%.

4. Thermo-oxidative Protection for Engineering Plastics

Used in elastomers and engineering plastics such as ABS, SBS, and SBR, preventing thermo-oxidative aging and metal ion-catalyzed degradation, improving product toughness and crack resistance. Suitable for automotive interior parts, appliance housings, and shoe materials, often compounded with hindered phenolic antioxidants.

5. Protection for Wire and Cable Insulation Materials

Chondrates copper and iron ions, inhibiting their catalytic oxidation of cross-linked PE and EVA insulation layers, improving the long-term aging resistance and insulation reliability of power cables and communication cables. Suitable for high-temperature environments and copper core cables.

6. Stabilizes Coating and Adhesive Systems

Prevents pre-crosslinking of UV-cured coatings and water-based/solvent-based adhesives during storage and curing, improves the weather resistance of alkyd resin coatings, and avoids coating delamination and gelation. Suitable for outdoor architectural coatings, automotive refinish paints, etc.

7. Blends with Polymer Anti-aging Systems

Synergistically combines with hindered phenolic and thioether antioxidants to construct a highly efficient anti-aging system, improving the material’s weather resistance, heat resistance, and yellowing resistance. Suitable for harsh environments such as outdoor building materials (e.g., plastic doors, windows, railings) and automotive exterior parts.

8. Flame Laminating Agent in Composite Cotton Production

Used in composite cotton production, as a flame laminating agent, it reduces smoke, shortens bonding time, and improves the water resistance of the composite layer. Compared to traditional hot melt adhesives and water-based adhesives, it is less prone to cracking upon contact with water. Recommended addition amount: 2–4 parts.

9. Fine Chemical Synthesis Applications

In organic synthesis, it acts as a reducing agent, peroxide scavenger, or catalyst ligand, participating in selective reactions to ensure the purity and yield of the target product. It is suitable for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and specialty chemicals.

10. Food Contact Material Additives

Its phenol-free and low-toxicity properties comply with relevant FDA standards. It is used in food contact grade PU, PVC, EVA, and other materials to ensure no harmful substance migration during processing and use. It is suitable for food packaging films, seals, etc.
