Application Instructions

A high-phosphorus content arylalkane phosphite ester antioxidant, widely used in polyurethane, resin synthesis, PVC, ABS and other fields, can provide excellent thermal stability and color improvement. As an efficient auxiliary stabilizer and chelating agent, it is used in both rigid and flexible PVC materials to provide brighter and more uniform colors, increase transparency, and enhance the thermal stability of PVC. It can enhance the thermal stability and long-term stability of polyurethane products. During the polyurethane foaming process, it can effectively alleviate the core burning problem caused by high temperatures and has a good inhibitory effect on phenolic yellowing and NOX yellowing of polyurethane products. Suggested addition amount: 0.1-2.0%

Antioxidant THOP Application scenarios

1. PVC Processing Heat Stabilization and Yellowing Resistance:

Inhibits thermal decomposition and HCl release during high-temperature extrusion/injection molding of PVC, reducing processing yellowing. Suitable for rigid PVC (pipes, profiles) and flexible PVC (films, artificial leather). Adding 0.1%–0.3%, often compounded with metal soaps to improve heat and weather resistance, suitable for food contact products.

2. Polyurethane (PU) Stabilization and Antioxidant Properties:

Used in PU foams (flexible/rigid foams), elastomers, and adhesives, inhibits the formation of polyol peroxides, preventing foaming core burning and yellowing. Adding 0.1%–0.3%, suitable for automotive seats, insulation boards, shoe materials, etc.

3. ABS and Engineering Plastics Heat and Oxidation Resistance:

Compounded with hindered phenols for ABS, PC/ABS, nylon, etc., inhibits heat and oxygen degradation during high-temperature processing and long-term use, maintaining product strength and appearance. Suitable for appliance housings, automotive interior parts, etc.

4. Polyolefin Anti-aging Compound:

In PP and PE, it works synergistically with primary antioxidants (such as Irganox 1010) to inhibit thermo-oxidative degradation during processing and use, protecting molecular weight and mechanical properties. Applications include food packaging films and automotive parts.

5. Elastomer and Rubber Anti-aging:

In EPDM, SBS, and SBR, it acts as an antioxidant and metal passivator, preventing thermo-oxidative aging and metal catalytic degradation. Suitable for sealing strips, hoses, tires, and other outdoor or high-temperature applications, improving fatigue resistance.

6. Coating and Adhesive Stabilizer:

It prevents pre-crosslinking during the storage and curing of UV-cured coatings/adhesives, improving the weather resistance of alkyd resin coatings and preventing coating delamination and gelation. Suitable for outdoor architectural coatings and automotive refinish paints.

7. Resin Synthesis Process Protection:

In polyester and epoxy resin synthesis, it acts as a heat stabilizer, inhibiting oxidative discoloration during polymerization and improving resin color and stability. Suitable for high-end coating resins and composite matrix resins.

8. Wire and Cable Insulation Protection:

Chondrates copper and iron ions, inhibiting the catalytic oxidation of cross-linked PE and PVC insulation layers, thus improving the long-term aging resistance and insulation reliability of power cables and communication cables.

9. Construction of Polymer Anti-aging Systems:

Synergistically combined with hindered phenolic and thioether antioxidants, it constructs a highly efficient anti-aging system, improving the material’s weather resistance, heat resistance, and yellowing resistance, suitable for harsh environments such as outdoor building materials (plastic doors and windows, railings) and automotive exterior parts.

10. Fine Chemical Synthesis Applications:

Acting as a reducing agent, peroxide scavenger, or catalyst ligand in the synthesis of pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates, it participates in selective reactions, ensuring the purity and yield of the target product, suitable for fine chemical synthesis scenarios.
