CHLUMIAO® 1520 / Irganox 1520 Usage

1. CHLUMIAO® 1520 is a new high molecular weight liquid antioxidant which is effective in stabilising rubber and stabilising adhesive compounds.

2. CHLUMIAO® 1520 effectively prevents the formation of gels and changes in colour, molecular weight and viscosity of the rubber during isolation, drying in storage and shipping. It is effective even in rubber processing without the addition of phosphite (TNPP). However, if required, the addition of phosphite will make it more effective. JADEWIN AN 1520 can also be used in polymeric or organic substrates, including thermoplastic elastomers, synthetic oils, etc.

3. CHLUMIAO® 1520 is a new antioxidant for rubber. It is mainly used in synthetic rubber such as cis-butyl rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, ethylene propylene rubber, nitrile rubber, thermoplastic elastomers, etc. It is used in small quantities and has a good antioxidant effect, which improves the stability of plastics or synthetic plastics.

4. CHLUMIAO® 1520 is an environmentally friendly antioxidant, which has transformed rubber products from general-purpose to environmentally friendly.

5. CHLUMIAO® 1520 can also be used in lubricants, plastics and other polymeric applications, all of which have good antioxidant properties.

Antioxidant 1520 Application scenarios

1. Anti-aging of Synthetic and Natural Rubber:

Compatible with synthetic rubbers such as butadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), and isoprene rubber, as well as natural rubbers, to inhibit thermo-oxidative aging, prevent gelation, and prevent discoloration. Suitable for light-colored or colored rubber products.

2. Processing Stabilization of Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs):

Used in styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymers (SBS), styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymers (SIS), and hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymers (SEBS), to inhibit thermo-oxidative degradation during processing and maintain stable mechanical properties.

3. Protection of Latex Products:

Added to natural or synthetic latex systems to prevent viscosity fluctuations, gelation, and discoloration caused by oxidation during storage and processing. Suitable for medical and everyday latex products.

4. Stabilization of Polyolefin and Styrene Resins:

Used in resins such as polypropylene, polyethylene, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), and high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) to inhibit thermo-oxidative degradation and yellowing during processing and use, suitable for various plastic products.

5. Anti-aging of Adhesives and Sealants:

Suitable for SBS/SIS-based hot melt adhesives, solvent-based adhesives, water-based adhesives, and polyurethane sealants, inhibiting oxidative aging during high-temperature processing and long-term use, maintaining bond strength and elasticity.

6. Antioxidant Properties of Industrial Oils and Greases:

Added to mineral oils, synthetic lubricants, hydraulic oils, and greases to inhibit oxidative rancidity and gum formation, extending oil life and protecting equipment from corrosion by oxidation products.

7. Stabilization of Coatings and Paints:

Used in solvent-based coatings, powder coatings, and industrial protective coatings to prevent yellowing and chalking during high-temperature curing and outdoor use, improving coating weather resistance and storage stability.

8. Food contact materials are compliant and stable:

It can be used in food contact grade rubber, plastics and coating products, inhibiting material thermo-oxidative aging and with low migration risk, suitable for food packaging, tableware matching parts and other fields.
