CHLUMIAO® SEED Usage

Antioxidant SEED is a special nylon multifunctional stabilizer, highly compatible with nylon to form molecular bonds. It has the characteristics of improving melt process, stabilizing melt pressure, reducing spinning breakage, improving color fastness, etc. It is especially suitable for nylon spinning process, significantly improving the melt index of nylon processing, providing long-lasting thermal stability and light stability. Combined with oxalylaniline UV absorber UV312 (VSU), it gives excellent long-lasting light and heat stability performance. The general dosage is 0.2-0.5%.

Antioxidant SEED Application scenarios

1. Polyamide (PA) Long-Term Stabilization:

Used in the injection molding, extrusion, and spinning processes of nylons such as PA6 and PA66 to inhibit photo-oxidative aging and thermo-oxidative degradation, reduce fiber breakage rate, improve filler and pigment dispersibility, and enhance color strength, dyeability, and weather resistance of products. Suitable for automotive parts, electronic and electrical appliance housings, mechanical parts, nylon fibers, and films. The thickness of PA products for food contact is typically limited to ≤50μm.

2. PET Resin and Packaging Material Protection:

As a light stabilizer and processing stabilizer for PET, it prevents photo-oxidative aging during processing and use, ensuring the transparency, mechanical properties, and color stability of bottles, sheets, films, and other products. The maximum usage for food contact packaging is 0.5%, and it must comply with relevant migration limits.

3. EVOH Barrier Material Stabilization:

Used in ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymers (EVOH) to improve their photothermal stability during processing and use. Often used as an intermediate layer material in non-direct food contact applications, with a thickness generally not exceeding 12μm, it enhances the barrier properties and durability of packaging.

4. Engineering Plastic Composite Stabilization:

Suitable for engineering plastics such as PBT, PC, and polyimide. Synergistically used with hindered phenolic antioxidants and phosphites to improve the long-term stability of materials under harsh conditions such as high temperature and light exposure, extending the service life of products in the automotive, electronics, and electrical industries.

5. Nylon Fiber and Textile Auxiliaries:

Used in nylon fiber spinning to improve melt stability, reduce fiber breakage rate, and enhance fiber weather resistance and dyeability. Suitable for outdoor textiles, industrial filter cloths, fishing net yarns, and other textile products requiring high light and heat resistance.

6. Pigment and Filler Dispersion Assistance:

In PA, PET, and other composite materials containing fillers or pigments, this enhances the dispersion uniformity of fillers and pigments, improves coloring strength and stability, and ensures consistent appearance and uniform mechanical properties of the finished products.

7. Weather Resistance Enhancement for Films and Sheets:

Used in packaging films and barrier sheets made of PA, PET, EVOH, etc., this enhances weather resistance and extends shelf life, making it particularly suitable for packaging and building materials used outdoors or under prolonged sunlight.
