Application Instructions

This is a ketone-type hydrogen-scavenging liquid photoinitiator. The product complies with RoHS 2.0 requirements and is free of benzene, sulfur, and halogens, exhibiting non-migration and high safety. It also features low yellowing characteristics, fast surface drying speed, broad absorption range, and excellent antioxidant and anti-polymerization properties.

Product Applications

.  HRcure-820 is particularly suitable for colorless, transparent, light-colored, and white formulations triggered by LED light sources. It effectively improves surface drying performance while maintaining color stability in the formulation

.  Additionally, its broad absorption range makes it equally suitable for standard mercury lamp formulations. Typical addition levels range from 0.5% to 1%.

Photoinitiator 820 Application scenarios

1. Cationic UV Curing Coatings:

Used in epoxy, vinyl ether, and other systems, providing high-gloss, wear-resistant coatings for substrates such as metal, glass, and plastics. Particularly suitable for thick film (>10μm) systems using titanium dioxide as a pigment, improving coating hardness, chemical resistance, and adhesion. Compatible with LED/mercury lamp UV curing, suitable for coatings on building materials, home appliance casings, and metal pipes.

2. Food Contact Packaging and Printing:

Used in UV offset, flexographic, and screen printing inks, suitable for indirect food contact packaging printing, complying with relevant FDA safety standards. Improves print gloss and scratch resistance, suitable for labels, cartons, and flexible packaging.

3. UV Adhesives and Sealants:

Used in cationic UV adhesives and sealants, suitable for bonding electronic components, optical components, glass, and metal. Improves bonding strength and aging resistance, and can also be used in indirect food contact packaging adhesives and sealing applications.

4. Electronic Materials and Photolithography:

Used in PCB solder mask inks, microelectronic photoresists (such as epoxy photoresists), and encapsulation materials. Acts as a photoacid generator to initiate cationic polymerization, enabling fine pattern transfer and improving circuit insulation and moisture and heat resistance. Suitable for semiconductor and high-density PCB manufacturing.

5. Hybrid Photocuring Systems:

Used in free radical/cationic hybrid photocuring systems, suitable for photocuring adhesives, sealants, and composite materials. Combines the rapid surface curing of free radical curing with the deep curing of cationic curing, improving overall product performance. Suitable for complex formulations and thick film applications.

6. Optical Materials and 3D Printing:

Used in UV-cured coatings for optical components and fiber optic coating materials, enhancing light transmission and aging resistance; also used as a cationic photoinitiator in epoxy resin-based SLA/DLP photosensitive resins, enabling high-precision molding of complex structures.
