Unique Properties

ZCAT-T52 is an innovative eco-friendly catalyst specifically developed to address the insufficient catalytic activity of current organic bismuth catalysts in promoting strength increase (post-curing) after polyurethane gelation. Its main characteristics are as follows:

⚫ A highly efficient post-curing/post-maturing catalyst that significantly shortens molding, demolding, and curing times. When used in combination with organic bismuth or other primary catalysts, post-maturing time can be reduced by approximately 30–50%.

⚫ Significantly improves tackiness on the surface of low-hardness soft PU, enhancing dryness. This is due to ZCAT-T52’s high catalytic activity, which ensures a more complete reaction.

⚫ Does not promote foaming; the product is bubble-free. Its unique targeted property of not catalyzing the reaction of trace moisture with isocyanate prevents CO₂ bubbles from forming during the reaction. Compared to ordinary organic zinc catalysts, it more effectively prevents issues such as excessive bubbling, cracking, blistering, and peeling.

⚫ Environmentally friendly material with minimal odor; classified as a non-VOC substance. Aligns with global environmental protection principles, making it particularly suitable for use in everyday household items.

Toepassingsgebieden

As a general-purpose polyurethane catalyst, it is widely applicable in aromatic or aliphatic isocyanate systems such as TDI, MDI, HDI, and IPDI. It is recommended for polyurethane CASE applications (elastomers, two-component sealants, adhesives, and coatings), and is particularly suitable for room-temperature or medium-temperature curing polyurethane systems: Room-temperature curing shortens the time to full cure, saving production time; medium-temperature curing offers a long pot life, enabling rapid demolding and high efficiency. It is particularly recommended for use in formulations for soft polyurethane products (<60A), where it significantly improves the tackiness of the product surface, achieving a soft yet non-sticky finish. Specific applications include soft shoe heels and gel products.

Instructions for Use

It is recommended to add this product to the polyol (P component) mixture, preferably after vacuum degassing and before sealing the container. Stir thoroughly until uniform. It is not recommended to add this product to the isocyanate (ISO, I component) mixture, as there is a risk of gelation. If it must be added to the isocyanate component, a compatibility test must be conducted beforehand.

Usage quantities depend on factors such as formulation and process; the general dosage is 0.05–0.5% by weight of the P component. After use, ensure the container is sealed immediately; do not leave it open.

HEPE plastic drums, 25/200 kg per drum. Store in a dry, cool warehouse, away from direct sunlight and rain. Shelf life is 24 months when unopened. If tested and found to be in compliance after expiration, the product may still be used as normal.
