Unique Properties
In the synthesis and molding of polyurethane materials, dibutyltin dilaurate has long been the dominant catalyst. However, the toxicity and environmental hazards of butyltin have attracted widespread attention in recent years. Environmental regulations in North America and the European Union have imposed corresponding restrictions on different types of organotin catalysts. However, organotin catalysts have been maturely applied in the polyurethane industry, especially in foam and moisture-curing processes, for many years, making it impossible to quickly change formulations in the short term.
CUCAT-S9 is an environmentally friendly tin catalyst adapted to these formulation requirements. It maintains the catalytic characteristics of tin catalysts and complies with EU REACH & RoHS regulations, meeting the needs of overseas export markets and having a wide range of applications. CUCAT-S9 possesses the following characteristics:
-Highly efficient catalytic activity. It exhibits the typical characteristics of organotin catalysts, effectively catalyzing the reaction of active hydrogen with isocyanate groups, with significantly higher catalytic activity than T-12.
-Excellent compatibility. Compared to T-12, it has better compatibility with other types of catalysts such as organobismuth and organozinc.
-It exhibits low-temperature non-crystallization properties. The catalyst remains liquid at low temperatures, making it convenient to use.
-It does not contain environmentally restricted components such as butyltin, octyltin, and phenyltin. It complies with EU REACH & RoHS regulations.
Toepassingsgebieden
Widely used in various polyurethane applications, such as polyurethane coatings, adhesives, single- and two-component sealants, elastomers, and foams.
Instructions for Use
-It is recommended to add the polyol (P component) to the product and stir until homogeneous. Alternatively, it can be added to the isocyanate (ISO, I component). Generally, this is safe, but due to packaging and formulation factors, the risk in the gel container cannot be completely eliminated; please conduct a suitability test first.
-The dosage depends on the formulation and process, but is generally 0.01–0.3% of the total resin weight.
-Because environmental requirements vary depending on the product’s application, end-users are advised to conduct actual testing according to relevant environmental standards.
