Benzophenone-1 Usage

BP-1 is mainly used in the fields of plastics, coatings, and adhesives; it also has some applications in optical materials

-Styrene: Anti-yellowing
-Polymethacrylate: Improve the optical and mechanical properties of the material (improve the light transmittance of the extruded sheet)
-Rubber system adhesive: improve the light stability of the glue
-Phenols and alkyd resins: improve weather resistance
-Epoxy and unsaturated resin system
-Plastic filter lens: improve the weather resistance of the color film
-Fluorescent paint: traffic signs and road signs
-Color liquid detergent
-Nail polishes.Max concentration: 5%

BP-1( UV-0) Application scenarios

1. Plastics Industry:

Used in various plastics such as polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polyolefins, epoxy resins, cellulose resins, and unsaturated polyesters to prevent degradation and aging caused by ultraviolet radiation from sunlight or fluorescent light, maintaining stable appearance and mechanical properties.

2. Coatings Industry:

Added to various coatings, such as automotive coatings, architectural coatings, and industrial anticorrosive coatings, to improve the weather resistance of the coating, extend its service life, and prevent problems such as discoloration, chalking, and cracking.

3. Rubber Products:

Applied to synthetic rubber products, such as rubber seals, rubber pipes, and rubber conveyor belts, to enhance the rubber’s resistance to UV aging, slow down the aging process, and ensure its performance and service life.

4. Textile Field:

Used in textile finishing to provide UV protection for fabrics and other textile materials, preventing discoloration, embrittlement, and decreased strength under sunlight, especially suitable for outdoor textiles such as sunshades and tent fabrics.

5. Acrylic Glass Protection:

Can be used in the production or post-treatment of acrylic glass products to reduce UV damage to acrylic glass, preventing yellowing and brittleness, and extending the service life of acrylic glass products.

6. Chemical Synthesis Intermediate:

A key intermediate for the synthesis of other benzophenone-type UV absorbers, such as 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone (UV-9) and 2-hydroxy-4-n-octyloxybenzophenone (UV-531), which are commonly used UV absorbers.
