Fields of application
Used as a storage fluid for organs in medicine, retinal detachment treatment; used as a substitute for chlorofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons; used as a heat transfer agent and lubricant.
Can be dissolved in hydrocarbons and fluorocarbons at the same time, making it an ideal solvent.
