Why choose UV gel polish?
With rising living standards, manicures have become an important way for women to pursue beauty and fashion. Traditional gel polish, primarily made of nitrocellulose, offers vibrant, long-lasting colors. However, the benzene compounds it contains are biotoxic and particularly soluble in oils and fats, posing health risks when ingested.

UV gel polish (also known as “phototherapy gel”) used in phototherapy manicures is primarily divided into two categories:
- Base gel:This includes a bonding gel (for enhanced adhesion) and a top coat (for protection and gloss);
- Colored resin gel:This provides rich color and is applied over the bonding gel.
Its ingredients primarily include polyurethane acrylic resin, reactive diluents (such as hydroxyethyl methacrylate), photoinitiators (such as TPO and 819), as well as various additives such as leveling agents and pigments. Non-toxic and harmless materials are used wherever possible to ensure both aesthetics and health.
Curing Light Source: UV Lamps vs. UV-LED Lamps
Traditional UV phototherapy lamps use mercury lamps with a dominant wavelength of 365nm. They cure in approximately two minutes, generate heat during operation, and contain mercury, which is not environmentally friendly. UV-LED lamps are increasingly being used, offering faster curing times (10–30 seconds), virtually no heat, a longer lifespan, and improved safety.

✨ Manicure Steps and Common Products:
- Balancing Solution: Apply after sanding the nail surface and allow to air dry. This removes grease, prevents curling, and enhances the adhesion of subsequent primers.
- Primer:
- Removable Primer:Requires sanding and can be removed with gel polishremover.
- Peelable Primer:Can be removed directly without damaging the nail.
- Non-Sanding Primer:Requires no sanding and is suitable for those with thin nails.
- Colored Primer: Provides color. The pigment must be stable, non-yellowing, and odor-free.
- Reinforcement/Construction Glue:
- Reinforcement Glue:Thickens nails, prevents breakage, and allows for attachment of accessories.
- Construction Glue:Corrects nail shape and creates curves, providing both reinforcement and aesthetics.
- Sealant:
- No-Wash Sealant:Commonly used, dries instantly after exposure to a lamp.
- Wipe-Off Sealant:Requires wiping off loose adhesive after exposure to a lamp, suitable for decorative items.
- Frosted/Tempered/Crystal-Coated Sealant: Provides matte, super-shine, and stain-resistant finishes, respectively.
- Hard Sealant: High viscosity, shapeable, and requires no reinforcement.
Ingredients and Features:
- Resin: Modified polyester acrylate is commonly used for base coats, while polyurethane acrylate is often used for color coats and top coats, balancing adhesion and toughness.
- Monomer: Different monomers are used for different functional adhesives, such as ACMO (top coat, fast-curing and high-hardness), CTFA (midcoat, good adhesion), and TBCHA (base coat, flexible and water-resistant).
- Additives: These include thiol curing agents, thermal stabilizers, and polymerization inhibitors to enhance performance and storage stability.
Compared to traditional gel polish, UV gel polish is not only more durable and scratch-resistant, but also dries quickly and allows for immediate application. It also comes in a wide variety of styles—solid colors, vibrant colors, fluorescent colors, glow-in-the-dark colors, and extender gels—to meet diverse nail art needs.
Removal is also simple and convenient: apply gel polish remover and a cotton pad for about 10 minutes, then wipe away easily.
